Just Dust in the wind

Just Dust

Understanding Idols in our Day and Age?

The music video Just dust in the wind you are about to watch will take you through scenes where man worships himself or others, or accumulates things that are worshipped instead of God.

On the flip side, our society has degraded human life to the point where human life has no honor and is devalued as worthless in the eyes of mankind. The song video God Omniscience will illustrate this truth, when a baby is a baby.

See through the eyes of Jesus, hear the voice calling opening up a new life!

Excepts from Just Dust

Just Dust in the Wind

When creatures of dust made in the image of God worship creations, creatures, and things made of dust instead of God alone, it’s called idol worship Romans 1:25!

What is an Idol?

Commandment #2 of the Ten Commandments:

You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.

Does an Idol rob God of the glory He should receive from us? There are mainline religions that say commandment #2 does not apply to the church age. But they miss the truth principle behind the idol commandment.

The truth is that whatever man can make as an imagine, or craft or worshipped that turns a heart away from God, to eyes on self or some creation is to worship an idol. Many so called Christian singers have worshipers who really adore them more than God.

What is Fame and Glamour?

Creating an image of a thing, oneself or deity that draws attention to itself, to be adored by replacing worship of God alone!

Do Christians fall into the trap of supporting musicians who claim they are believers without searching out their claim of repentance of sin and forsaking their past ways?

Judging Anyone Named a Brother

Certainly the Bible teaches that one must first take the speck out their own eyes before judging another Matthew 7:5. Other words, examine yourself for fault before criticizing another. Paul specifically judged an immoral person in 1st Corinthians chapter 5 for a man having his fathers wife. He prayed that his flesh be given over to Satan and appealed to the church believers to purify themselves by judging from within.

In short, Paul is saying do not associate with one who is named a brother, who who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person 1 Corinthians 5:11. And then says do you not judge those who are inside the church calling themselves believers in Christ? But outside the church, or those are in the world as unsaved, God will judge 1 Corinthians 5:12-13.

Should we test the Spirit and Fruits of others by God’s standard?

1 John 4:1

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 Peter 2:2

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.

A Tree and its Fruit

Matthew 7:16

15 Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.

My Prayer

My prayer for each of you including myself is to stay focused on the Lord Jesus and not idols!

If you live long enough you will witness someone you perhaps idolized fail or fall away or perhaps you treasured something you shouldn’t have.   It could even be some object you desired more than the Lord, or a person or something that let you down!

You will be dismayed and wonder how that happened, but immediately put your  eyes of faith on the Lord and read His Word faithfully each day and eagerly wait for Jesus to deliver you!  It’s not a one time seeking the Lord but an everyday habit of faithfulness to Him! And restore one who has sinned with humility, Galatians 6:1 if repentance is desired.

The Lord does not want you to be hurt by worshiping idols or setting ourselves up as idols!
