A Glimpse at God’s Throne

Enjoy an energizing, powerful, simulated presence of God’s Holiness as Celestial activity is captured around God’s Throne, Isaiah 6:1-3. Be awed at God’s Honor, Majesty, Strength and Beauty, Psalm 96:6 surrounding HIs Sanctuary. Envision the Beauty of Holy Worship, Psalm 96:9 and Wonders of His Creation that even existed prior to the existence of man and universe and how man falls short of His Glory, Romans 3:23. He is Coming to judge the world with righteousness and truth, Psalm 96:11-13.

What Do We Know About God?

Since God always existed before time, and we only have a glimpse of God’s existence, that He always existing and never ending only boggles our mind as to what we know about Him, the Trinity, and Creation.

Living forever and ever gives us the awe that there could be other life forms that we do not know about? He is only letting us know a dust speckle of Himself. After all, even the Crucifixion and the Church was a mystery to Old Testament Saints. How much more is a mystery to us about God?

Take for example His preparation of the things for His children. If the eye can’t imagine, nor the ear hear any teachings or entered the heart of man, because we are incapable of understanding and can’t fathom the things He has prepared for His children that love Him then what does that say about God 1 Corinthians 2:9?

Before the Physical Universe

Since there is undeniable proof that God exists Romans 1:18-23, then where does He live? Because the Universe didn’t evolve but was created, then what was before the Universe? We can know answers to the what and where questions, but the how questions like how can God exist forever or how can God be three in one can’t be answered.

Celestial Creatures Created Before the Foundations!

This may seem to be a strange truth to those first hearing this, but scripture points out that Celestial Angelic Beings were created before the Physical Universe was created, Job 38:4,7 since they were rejoicing when the foundations were created. See the Celestial Hierarchy outline of the ten spheres of God’s rulership at the end of this article.

God’s Character

God is Spirt and cannot be seen or felt! He is everywhere, every place at all times. If you could travel to the end of the Galaxies, He is there. He is at all places all the time, God’s Omnipresence Psalm 139:7 and knows everything before it happens in time, God’s Omniscience Psalm 139:2-4. God does not have to be taught anything, as He knows all. His knowledge and Wisdom is unsurpassed. Who has known the mind of the Lord Romans 11:33-36?

Man’s Self Centeredness

Man has this self centered concocted idea of thinking everything evolves around him and even thinks he has the power to save the planet. But scripture says differently if one studies it God upholds the Universe by His power and is personally involved in His creation Hebrews 1:1-4.

Where does God’s Throne Reside?

Can we know where God live? While Solomon was praying before God in regards to the earthy temple he was building, he acknowledged that even the heaven and the heavens of heavens cannot contain God 1 Kings 8:27. Therefore God is outside of the physical heavens. Yes it is true that God lives in believers and is everywhere but still His actual presence or abode is outside the heavens.

Direction of God’s Throne?

How about the direction of where God’s Throne is located? The only direction left out is North, Psalm 75:6. Job 26:7 says God “stretches out the north over the empty place.” It is in this northern region that astronomers have discovered an empty space so vast it is virtually incomprehensible. Although the heavens are filled with stars, it seems that behind the Northern Star there is an empty space. This north star is one of the brightest in the sky.

Even Satan acknowledged that God lived in the North where he wanted to over through God, Isaiah 14:12-14!

Description of God’s Throne

Ezekiel’s Vision of God – Ezekiel 1

1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God. ² On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, ³ the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.

⁴ Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. ⁵ Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures (Cherubim). And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. ⁶ Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. ⁷ Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves’ feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze. ⁸ The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings. ⁹ Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward.

¹⁰ As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle. ¹¹ Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies. ¹² And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went.

¹³ As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning. ¹⁴ And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.

¹⁵ Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces (Ophanim-“Wheels”). ¹⁶ The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel. ¹⁷ When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went. ¹⁸ As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them. ¹⁹ When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. ²⁰ Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. ²¹ When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

²² The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. ²³ And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body. ²⁴ When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings. ²⁵ A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings.

²⁶ And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. ²⁷ Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. ²⁸ Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord (God Himself).

Great White Throne Judgment for Unbelievers

One could look at this video and think of the the Great White Throne Judgment for unbelievers that is described in Revelation 20:11-15 and is the final judgment prior to the lost being cast into the lake of fire.

Judgment Seat of Christ for Believers

But there is celebration at one of God’s Thrones called the Judgment Seat of Christ. It is a Throne where believer are rewarded as described as Paul speaking to believers in Romans 14:12-13 says, “For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat to be rewarded with crowns. with gratitude of worship. Christians may spontaneously respond by laying those crowns at Christ feet, Crowns Rewarded to Believers.  But anyway you look at it, all will face God on His Throne after leaving this life!

Celestial Hierarchy – Important Consideration

A point to understand especially as you get to the lower level of Angelic beings in the Second and the Third Tier.    Renowned Bible expositor Joseph Lightfoot mentions that the words rulers and authorities are applied not only to good angles but fallen angles too!   Other words, Loyal angles, and fallen angels have a political structure of authority to follow and just can’t act out their wishes without first getting permission.

First Tier – The Highest Heaven

1 Seraphim – Seraphim have six wings. Two wings cover their face, two cover their body, and two cover their feet. There are four that we know of and have only one face each, lion, calf, man, and eagle Revelation 4:6-8. Also Isaiah 6:1-3 describes the highest angelic class and serve as the caretakers of God’s throne and continuously shout praises: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts. Read Isaiah 6:1-7

2  Cherub – Cherubim have four faces each and there are four that we know of: man, an ox, a lion, and an eagle. They have four wings covered with eyes, a lion’s body figure, and they have ox’s feet. Cherubim guard the way to the tree of life in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24) and the throne of God (Ezekiel chapter 1, and 10, chapter 28:14-16).

The cherubim are mentioned in Genesis 3:24; Exodus 25:17-22; 2 Chronicles 3:7-14; Ezekiel 10:12–14, 28:14-16; 1 Kings 6:23–28;

3  Ophanim Wheels – They are closely connected with the Cherubim: “When they moved, the others moved; when they stopped, the others stopped; and when they rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them; for the spirit of the living creatures [Cherubim] was in the wheels.” Ezekiel 10:17

Wheels are mentioned in the vision of Daniel 7:9) are unusual looking even compared to the other celestial beings; They appear as a beryl-colored wheel-within-a-wheel, their rims covered with hundreds of eyes.

4 Elders Thrones – Carry out the duties of the Lord and praising Him as the twenty-four elders. Revelation 11:16“And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God”

Mentioned in Daniel 7:9 “… as the Thrones were put into place…”.  And mentioned in Colossians 1:16.

Second Tier –Heavenly Governors

5 Dominions – Dominions are presented as the hierarchy of celestial beings “Lordships. The Dominions, also known as the Hashmallim, regulate the duties of lower angels. It is only with extreme rarity that the angelic lords make themselves physically known to humans. They are also the angels who preside over nations.

The Dominions are believed to look like divinely beautiful humans with a pair of feathered wings, much like the common representation of angels, but they may be distinguished from other groups by wielding orbs of light fastened to the heads of their scepters or on the pommel of their swords. Colossians 1:16.

6 Virtues – Virtues or Strongholds lie beyond the ophanim (Thrones/Wheels). Their primary duty is to supervise the movements of the heavenly bodies in order to ensure that the cosmos remains in order.

The term appears to be linked to the attribute “might”, from the Greek root “δύναμις” in Ephesians 1:21, which is also translated as “Virtue”. They are presented as the celestial Choir “Virtues”, in the Summa Theologica. Traditional theological conceptions of the Virtues might appear to describe the same Order called the Thrones (Gr. thronos), (in which case the Ophanim may not be the same thing as “Thrones”).

From Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite‘s De Coelesti Hierarchia:

“The name of the holy Virtues signifies a certain powerful and unshakable virility welling forth into all their Godlike energies; not being weak and feeble for any reception of the divine Illuminations granted to it; mounting upwards in fullness of power to an assimilation with God; never falling away from the Divine Life through its own weakness, but ascending unwaveringly to the superessential Virtue which is the Source of virtue: fashioning itself, as far as it may, in virtue; perfectly turned towards the Source of virtue, and flowing forth providentially to those below it, abundantly filling them with virtue.”

7 Powers or Authorities – “Powers” (lat. potestas, pl. potestates), or “Authorities”, from the Greek exousies, (see Greek root in Eph 3:10) appear to collaborate, in power and authority, with the Principalities (Rulers).

The Powers are the bearers of conscience and the keepers of history. They are also the warrior angels created to be completely loyal to God. Some believe that no Power has ever fallen from grace, but another theory states that Satan was the Chief of the Powers before he Fell (see also Ephesians 6:12). Their duty is to oversee the distribution of power among humankind, hence their name.

Paul used the term rule and authority in Ephesians 1:21, and rulers and authorities in Ephesians 3:10. He may have been referring to the rulers and authorities of humanity, instead of referring to angels.[citation needed]

Third Tier –Heaven Divine Solders and Messengers

8 Principalities or Rulers – The “Principalities” (lat. principatus, pl. principatūs) also translated as “Princedoms” and “Rulers”, from the Greek arche (see Greek root in Eph 3:10), appear to collaborate, in power and authority with the Powers (Authorities).

The Principalities are shown wearing a crown and carrying a sceptre. Their duty also is said to be to carry out the orders given to them by the Dominions and bequeath blessings to the material world. Their task is to oversee groups of people. They are the educators and guardians of the realm of earth. Like beings related to the world of the germinal ideas, they are said to inspire living things to many things such as art or science.

Paul used the term rule and authority in 1:21 Ephesians, and rulers and authorities in Ephesians 3:10.

9 Archangel – The word “archangel” comes from the Greek αρχάγγελος (archaggělǒs), meaning chief angel, a translation of the Hebrew רב־מלאך (rav-mal’ákh) [12] It derives from the Greek archō, meaning to be first in rank or power; and aggělǒswhich means messenger. The word is only used twice in the New Testament: 1 Thessalonians 4:16and Jude 1:9. Only Archangels Gabriel and Michael are mentioned by name in the New Testament.

10 Angel – The “angels”, (malakhim Greek aggělǒs) messengers, are the lowest order of the angels, and the most recognized. They are the ones most concerned with the affairs of living things. Within the category of the angels, there are many different kinds, with different functions. The angels are sent as messengers to mankind.

What went into making this Video?

Tons and tons of effort especially to make the angles and figures to come out at the right timing of the song. These things just don’t happen by themselves without lots of work to do it! I can assure you that I have not had any visions of God’s Throne in some kind of dream but have used Biblical scripture only to just get a glimpse of the activity.

If you think you can do better than by all means do so for the Kingdome of God. But don’t criticize if you can’t support your viewpoint with Biblical evidence and only reply back by saying its not Biblical. Where are your verses? And if the style of music is not yours, and you can do better, so let it be, how about spending time making your own melody instead of sending idle comments.

I need to really have a Seraphim and Cherub in the video but have not had the time to develop them. All the faces and bodies takes lots of work and imagination.
